The tunnel goes from the lower left of the square to the upper right of the square. It is about head height, with gun emplacements every few metres along the side. Great fun!

Sumner Deaf and Dumb Institution opened.Gerrit van Asch was appointed principal. Oral teaching promoted, sign language strictly forbidden.
